Below is a collection of project and research endeavors I have engaged in.
Important milestones and deliverables for each project are linked.
December 2025
The central research question of this project is: How effectively can modern neural language models like Distil-BERT detect humor in real-world Reddit data compared to traditional classifiers such as Naive Bayes and Logistic Regression? To address this, we systematically compare traditional baselines of Multinomial Naive Bayes and Logistic Regression trained on TF-IDF features with a neural model in the form of a fine-tuned DistilBERT classifier that leverages contextualized embeddings.
May 2025
This research was inspired by the need for efficient detection of cardiac abnormalities from ECG images. We aimed to develop a model that learns normal and abnormal patterns from ECGs in an unsupervised way, using autoencoders and clustering.
July 2024
Internship Capstone Project - Cybersecurity Intern at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of the Chief Information Officer at FEMA.
I was assessing the Axonius Asset Management tool and determining whether it fits the DHS's risk management and cybersecurity goals, as well as offers effective asset management services.
May 2023
The project I engaged in during my time interning at the Wilson Lab at Michigan State University, where I investigated the impact of PFAS pollutants on specified receptors in the human body.
May 2022
A project I engaged in following the COVID-19 pandemic, which aimed to help with hospital triaging and the strain on hospital resources that resulted from increased overcrowding.
May 2021
A project that aimed to automate the identification process of chest radiographs, thereby decreasing the amount of time, money, and resources associated with these readings and allowing for reallocation of resources.
